TERMS OF USE
- Customer acknowledges that all comic grading is subjective by its very nature; ACE Grading Company (hereby referred to as ACE) uses stringent grading criteria based on recognized standards in the industry.
- Customer assumes all liability for any damage to comic books which occurs during shipping to ACE. Insurance is therefore recommended but is the responsibility of the customer. ACE will inspect all submissions carefully upon receipt and notify customer immediately if any damage appears to have occurred during shipping.
- After grading and encapsulation, all submissions will be returned to the customer by UPS OR FedEx shipping and will be insured by ACE for Fair Market Value (hereby referred to as FMV) of all books.
- Our encapsulation case is tamper evident. Opening the case automatically voids our certification.
- Although our encapsulation case offers a high degree of protection for each comic book, it is not impervious to the elements. It is therefore recommended that all encapsulated comic books be stored in a cool, dry, dark place. ACE is not responsible for any damage which occurs to a graded, encapsulated book due to improper storage or display.
- Knowingly submitting an altered or restored book or a book with a knowingly forged signature amounts to fraud. ACE reserves the right to pursue legal action if such fraud is discovered.
- ACE reserves the right to reject any submission for any reason.
- ACE takes all reasonable precautions to avoid damage to submitted books, but in the unlikely event that a submission is damaged while in the possession of ACE, the customer will be compensated by ACE for the current FMV. This will be a good faith estimate of FMV, not to exceed the customer's declared FMV on the submission form. In addition to this compensation, the customer will also have the submission returned to them.
- Customer agrees that the estimated FMV submitted on the submission form is a good faith estimate based on information available on the date the form was submitted.
- Customer agrees to inspect encapsulated books immediately upon receipt back from ACE. Customer further agrees to notify ACE within 3 business days if damage is discovered. If ACE is not notified within this time frame, customer accepts all liability.
- Customer understands that some vintage comic books are brittle and easily damaged. ACE takes great effort to handle all submissions with great care. Despite this, damage to books which are brittle may be unavoidable. Damage to any book will only be eligible for compensation if damage occurred due to negligence or accident.
- For books which are pressed prior to encapsulation, ACE also takes great care to avoid damage. Customer agrees that, although small, there is inherent risk of damage during the pressing process. Customer agrees not to hold ACE liable for any damage which occurs during the pressing process, unless said damage is due to negligence or accident.
- Customer agrees not to ship any book back to ACE after encapsulation for any reason without first notifying ACE and receiving permission to do so.
- Any digital images taken of books submitted to ACE are the property of ACE and may be used without permission or royalty at any time in the future.
- ACE is not accepting international customers or shipments at this time.
- A restoration and conservation check is performed on all submitted books prior to grading and encapsulation but is not guaranteed.
- ACE will keep all customer information private. ACE agrees not to share customer information with any third party without written consent from the customer.
- All credit card transactions are encrypted and ACE does not keep customer credit card information on file.
- Payment in full is due at the time of submission.
- No refunds, all sales are final.
- Items will be shipped back to the customer via UPS or FedEx within 5 days of pressing and/or grading and encapsulation. Please see website for current information for turnaround times for pressing and/or grading and encapsulation.
- Customer will be charged for exact shipping costs for return shipping. This cost will depend on several factors: number of items shipped, distance shipped, and insurance costs. All items will be insured for FMV during return shipping.
- The ACE encapsulation case with hanger tab is all one piece. Therefore, ACE is not responsible for any damage to an encapsulated comic book which occurs if the case falls after being hung.
- Customer should take care when displaying their book to avoid fading damage from UV light; ACE is not responsible for any such damage.
