ACE Grading Co. offers pressing services, either separately or in addition to grading. We have spent years refining and perfecting our technique to help maximize the value of your comics by removing certain defects such as bends, non-color breaking spine ticks, spine rolls, and water ripples among others. Check out the accompanying photos to see what we can accomplish. Like grading, the cost of pressing services depends on two factors: the age of the book and the value of the book (based on fair market value, or FMV, at the time of submission).
Unlike other companies, ACE offers free pre-screening for pressing services. It may not always be obvious whether a book would benefit from pressing, so we screen every book submitted for grading to determine if it would benefit. We will then contact you to determine if you would like us to proceed with pressing. In this way, you don't have to guess and pay for pressing on a book when it won't improve the grade.
